Bob Jones 2 begins!

Started pre-production meetings and recording for Bob Jones new project. We are trying out some new approaches to recording the new songs, different from the live in one room concept of "Michael and Me". Should be a lots of fun.

Raw test track from first sessions below (faders up with no eq). We are experimenting with the process. On Michael and Me it was 4 players in a room live. This time we are opening up our sonic options. For example we used a cool drum loop on Start All Over and mixed it under the real drums. Lots of layered guitars with effects. I am using a dynamic (57)and ribbon mic (AEA R92 or Crowley and Tripp Naked Eye) on each amp to get a bigger sound, more of the room...stuff like that.

The track to Start All Over is ALREADY slammin'. And we just started it! Tom has many good ideas regarding length of sections in the song ( editable ) and instrumentation. But, already very cool sounding with my homemade Rock Amp/Fliptop combination and Tom's AWESOME Victoria. Also many thanks to the Tremulator Pedal left at the factory default Ry Cooder setting with the pulse set to ( roughly ) eighth notes. Fun!

posted test track with comments on sonic possibilities. This a raw test track, just faders up with not much eq or compression. We also want to do the drums and vocals again but you get the idea. Nice thick sound
